2nd. Year filming yet?

I love the Beast and hope Patrick is doing so good that he will film a second season.
Anyone have info on this?

It has not been renewed yet

I saw the first ep on channel 5USA in the UK last night. Loved it, it's very dark. Looking forward to the next ep.

I'm loving this show!... Lou Diamond Phillips..."WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN !" GREAT JOB DUDE!

Not going to happen. Patrick Swayze is gaunt and is on the verge of dying, doctor's are giving him a couple more months to live.

You're a moron. Stop spreading rumors. The FACT is he's doing better than any of the tabloids WANT you to believe (they sell more papers that way). The FACT is that season two is currently being written and negotiations with SONY are underway. Enjoy your rumors.

"PATRICK SWAYZE is in good spirits, training for the second season of his TV show THE BEAST and "kicking butt", according to close pal WHOOPI GOLDBERG."

Hes not a moron. Recent pictures show Patrick looking gaunt, frail and the poor guy has lost his hair. It would be impossible for him to film a new series of any tv show.

I keep missing the eps (gotta go back and watch 'em all), the first ep was pretty darn awesome though.

Glad to see him still working.

Edit: Saw the 2nd and 3rd last night online (I will pick up the dvd though whenever it comes out). Excellent stuff!

Here is a fact that I read, they reported he only has a month to live, I read that over a year ago.

By the way, the umpteenth article in the past 16 months with an 'omg he's gonna die' spiel to it that's probably B.S. says and I quote 'Swayze has continued to work on his TV show The Beast, defying a string of news reports that allege he is at death's door.'

Either they miserably failed to recycle old crap (the article, not the show) or is the 2nd season already filming or preproduction or something?

reply

I can tell you guys that nothing has started production wise, at least not in Chicago. I believe I heard that the second season is written, but there has been no news on the series getting picked up for a second season. Trust me, everyone in the film business who lives in Chicago is waiting to hear something. Work here is slim (we have Nightmare on Elm Street, that's it) and there has been no word on if the show is going to be filming anything.

My guess... probably not. Patrick may not be close to death, but he isn't in any shape to be shooting a TV show. I mean, the regular day working on the first season was at a minimum twelve to fourteen hours, sometimes stretching in to eighteen. It's a lot of work, and he isn't healthy. Without him the show has no real name pull (and yes, fans would probably still come back, but the studios require a name to be attached).

So, while my fingers are crossed that it'll get a second season (I can use the work, plus the first season was a blast to work on), I'm not holding my breath.

I kept hoping Patrick would be okay to shoot a second season, but I doubt it. I don't think he's doing well at all. Now I know there are a lot of rumors out there so it's hard to know what to believe, but the last article I read said he was now bedridden, had given up treatment and had said his goodbyes to his family. Now I hope it's NOT true, but there haven't been any recent photos of him and the last ones I saw were not good.

I loved this show and hoped to see it continue. Without Patrick though, I know that I won't watch. It won't be the same. Just like what they tried to do with John Ritter's show after he died - no one wants to watch a show after a beloved star has died.

Actually there was a photo taken last week of him and he looked great.

The show didn't make it to A&E's lineup, so I'm guessing it is officially done with. I don't think that A&E was willing to take the risk of restructuring the show in season 2, and Patrick (no matter how he is doing) is still sick, and the strain of doing a weekly series would probably take its toll on him health wise.

ET has learned that Patrick Swayze's A&E drama "The Beast" will not return to the network for its second season.

Swayze, 56, continued shooting the series during its first season despite his diagnosis and treatment for pancreatic cancer last year. In "The Beast," which debuted last January, Swayze played an unorthodox FBI vet training a new partner while being pursued by a secret Internal Affairs team.

The star revealed he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March 2008.

Gotta believe ET, they wouldn't lie.

This sucks, The Beast is my favorite new show. At least Leverage is still going.
