First off, I am a big P Swayze fan since THE OUTSIDERS. I read the book yrs before the movie came out. I won't even go there, as far as his 'blockbuster' movies.
I tried to watch this series when it first came out, not knowing he was battling cancer. He reminded me of 2 co-workers/friends that went thru chemo. After looking up more info on him, I was very sad to find out that he was in chemo.
I tried again to watch an episode after his death and after 5 minutes, I had to change channels. It is too painful, knowing how he struggled, very much like my 2 friends.
To me, he was always the 'classy, gentleman, stud'! That is how I will always remember him. So I cannot watch another minute of THE BEAST, without it tearing me apart.
The snippets of the show that I saw, did make me want to watch more, (ie. the cast is great, esp Kevin O'Connor as Conrad), but I couldn't.

It's the same for me. I stopped watching after two episodes. It broke my heart to see Patrick turn into a wraith in front of my eyes.
