Nominations on TV

Do the news channels carry the nominations broadcast? I am from India and the only international news channels I get are BBC World and CNN International.

Also is it worth watching the Oscar nominations process instead of just checking them out on the internet after they're announced. Who'll be announcing the nominations today?
