Is No Country For Old Men really that good?

I don't know. I haven't seen it yet.

Not everyone will like it, but yes, it was best pic of the year

I wasn't crazy about it but hey, art is subjective.

after seeing three of the five movies nominated this year, Juno, No Country For Old Men and There Will Be Blood, I thought it was the best and most original. Its a real flawless film, tight editing, great acting and a strong script. Really enjoyed it and Tommy Lee Jones was great in this film, imo should have received a double nomination. Def worth seeing

I saw "No Country ... " and was not at all impressed. However, I could tell from watching it how impressed the Coens were with themselves. The movie itself left me not caring about any of the characters, and it's filled with masturbatory, gratuitous violence. I am not a prude, by any stretch, but the violence is just way over the top, and not in a good or artistic way. The fact that this big steaming pile of crap won "Best Picture" speaks volumes about the state of the movie business.

It was excellent. Maybe not best of the year, but you'd be hard pressed to find a more well-made film.

I really enjoyed. I thought it was worthy of the awards

Ummm....can anyone say horrible ending? There Will Be Blood 'will' be considered best in 07 in the years to come if you ask me. Not that the Oscars have ever mattered.

The Departed - Best Picture 2006
Martin Scorsese - Best Director 2006
There Is A God
