Blind? Def? Michelle's Dad? Actually Boyfriend?

I was watching the movie over again, and observing the scene where gweneth/michelle is fighting with her father. Then contemplated if she was lying that, that was actually her father, or in truth, was her rich boyfriend who had a wife. Anyone have wander about this too?

No dad, rich boyfriend. He pays for the house, too.

You're an Ass. A real ass, too.

Call me dense but I believe it was her dad. I mean, your boyfriend is yelling at you and you "escape" from the appartment to "let him chill". Why didn't he come after her? That doesn't seem like boyfriend-girlfriend type behavior. Whereas, let's say, if your dad is kinda old and gets angry and has rants frequently, one might leave him alone to let him chill.

I'm sticking with it's her father, not her bf.

It was her lover. He even said later that his mother lived in the neighborhood. He installed his girlfriend in an apartment close to his mom so that he could go to the area without anyone becoming suspicious.

Leonard was a stranger. She wouldn't have wanted to tell him too much information about herself. It was more logical to a middle class person that it was a father and not a lover yelling at her.

He would not have followed her. He didn't want to be seen by anyone who might recognize him. It was his old neighborhood. That was a possibility.

When the met on the roof the first time, she said "he", meaning Ronald, was in the apartment.
It established the roof as their safe meeting place.

I think it was probably her boyfriend, thinking about the scene when Michelle and Leonard come back from the hospital and they are in her bedroom and the boyfriend lets himself into her apartment and she asks Leonard to hide because 'he'll go crazy if he sees you in here' (or something to that effect). I think that's a pretty good illustration that he is the type of boyfriend who would yell at her like that. After-all it's pretty unreasonable that he would get angry at her for calling her friend to be with her at the hospital when he couldn't be there (because he was with his WIFE all day).

It was absolutely him. He probably found some drugs and was pissed. Remember the restaurant scene where he tells Leonard that he's worried she's falling off the wagon? As for why she'd lie, well she's clearly a manipulative woman.

Jesus, it's elias koteas's voice, yes, it's the boyfriend. But i also don't know why she opted to say that it was her father.

Agree it was her boyfriend's voice... she tells Leonard later that she living there is a total cover up... it seems logical she wouldnt tell a stranger itos her boyfriend shouting... that would be shocking and scary and she being a new neighbor

Towards the end of the film I reached the same conclusion that this was likely her rich boyfriend and not her father that was yelling at her when she and Leonard first meet. It's a bit jarring when we meet the boyfriend because he doesn't appear to be nearly as aggressive and mean to her as he did in that scene.
