Exactly what I first thought also. Loved Festen (The Celebration) .. movie and play and wondering if I should add this to my possible picks for Toronto FF.

Jup, it's what I thought of immediately also. But I do believe this one is pointed more towards the american way of black comedy, so unfortunately uncomparable. Best of luck though! :)

I absolutely love Festin! it completely changes your perspective of film

When I read the name I thought it was a US version of hit UK- comedy Peep Show!!
Even the POV camera on the IMDb main page is of the ilk of that show.

Synopsis is remarkably like Festen, but I suppose any film that involves revealing a "dark secret" at a public gathering will always be subject to that comparison.
