Language(s) spoken by woman (creature)

Does anyone actually have translations of what the creature (while disguised a the lost veiled desert woman) is saying to the soldiers? And what actual language she is speaking? Is it Dari or Pashtun or something else?

Does the DVD explain any of this?

I won't have access to this on DVD anytime soon, so if anyone has seen a DVD version with Director, etc. commentary that explains this, I would really love to know what's being said. Or has someone who actually knows the language spoken seen the movie and can at least give the gist of her speech?

Thanks!

hi, can tell you that the poor girl definitely did not speak Dari or Pashto. I grew up in Afghanistan and never heard anybody talk the way she does. From what i can hear in the film, her speech is more likely to be of Arabic dialect. I'm guessing it is likely to be Arabic, i'm not 100% sure, but it is definitely Dari or Pasho.

The creature with black eyes at the beginning though, spoke in Dari ( with Arabic accent, probably because the actress is an Arab) She said "beroon boroo", which means "get out"

haven't finish watching this film...yet...can't get past the moron who wants to "*beep* her"...

Yeah, I hear ya. Moronice characters and scenes like that one always make me sick. I was most taken in by the cinematography and soundtrack. It was otherwise intoxicating to watch and listen to. I wish it had been a better movie, it had some potential to be.... something... in the vein of flicks like "Alien" etc. But, sadly, it was not!

Thank for your reply. If you ever get through the entire film or find out what if any real language (or dialect thereof) the creature character is speaking, post back and leet me know.

Thanks again!

In the credits she is referred to as (Mercedes Masöhn)an Arab Woman. Why? Is that an error, or what?
