Saw it in Spokane

An engaging story that manages to show a day in the life of a charming addict who is so much more than his addiction. "Fix" somehow transcends the cliches of films about addiction to become a powerful story about somebody you know. Leo is at once heartbreaking and charming, and the film is somehow shot without imposing moral judgments on him or his addiction. You see him for who he is, warts and all, and draw your own conclusions.

Woven into the main story is the city of Los Angeles, who manages to be a living, breathing character, again, without being a cliche. Honestly, if I'd read much about this film before seeing it I probably wouldn't have, because it reads like a vanity project. Yet the execution is anything but.

See this movie. It's so worth it.
