Kind of Flat

The Jacob-Dylan-led "Echo in the Canyon" from last year had some really good cinematography, but unfortunately, the doc revolved around the uncharismatic son of Dylan leading a concert trying to recreate the music of that time.

This Kathleen-Kennedy-led doc is kind of flat. All the interviewees are off camera, which robs the film of giving a human connection to its subjects. A very odd creative choice. Everything are photos and film from that time, with music interacting with the interview soundbites.

With Kennedy making so much money off trashing modern-day "Star Wars," you would think that there would be more time developed making this two-part subject. It definitely comes across as more a TV doc, than something that is elevated above that.
