Yah, I tuned into this movie because I am a fan of Xena and wanted to see Renee O'Conner strut her acting chops...and was sadly disappointed. I also wanted to see Tim DeKay who rocked in Carnivale. I have to say the acting was meek, at best. Tim definitely was trying to work something out of the Monster Ark script, which seemed to have been written by an 8-year-old sci fi fan. I don't blame the actors too much, they tried (though I think Renee tuned out entirely, I would to if I just read that bad script.)
Everything was really predictable and "hokey". I don't know what producer on the sci-fi would give this script a green light. Maybe the director/writer owns the channel or something...or the sci-fi channel will take anything from a film 101 script writing class, If so, I have a few scripts I wrote back in college if sci-fi is reading this. And I laughed at every Indiana Jones similarity, it was kind of sad that there was no creativity at all to think outside the box. I was hoping that this film was sort of "tongue in cheek," but if it was meant to be that way, the execution failed and it took itself too seriously. SO, I just think it was a really bad sci-fi original.
