Can't wait to watch it on DVD

In 1968 I watched "DER BUERGERKRIEG IN RUSSLAND" (The russian civil war), a miniseries made for german TV. A well crafted docu-drama, that portrait Admiral Koltchak in great detail. What an epic story it was.
Now I keep hoping, that the russians studios will release this movie with either german or english subtitles.
Please keep me posted here about the release.

Dear Iknina

I believe the rest of the world does like to see them, because I operate an international Video-Library in Parry Sound Ontario and I rent out a lot of russian movies. I have a growing circle of filmfriends with a craving for russian movies, some of them even rent movies that don't even have english subtitles. If russian studios would market their movies in northamerica, like hollywood does, they could make a fortune. I'm not exagerating, because I can proove it, by the way I operate my business. Yes, off course do I promote them with a passion.Hollywood produces not any real good historical movies, but Russia does.

Thank's for the info Iknina.

I agree -- I'd love to see a DVD with English subtitles.

Just ordered mine from Ebay.de for $9.99 plus $5.00 shipping from a german seller. Unfortunately without english subtitles.

Bought another bootleg, ehh, wiltvid? I pity Russian cinema. With fans like you, who needs enemies?

By the way, the jokes on you. Both the legal editions come with English subtitles.

reply

How should I know, that the russian versions are bootleg copies ?
Please let me know, how I could identify bootleg DVD's from russia ?
By the way, can You verify, that the sales-link for Sluga Gosudarev (the version with english subtitles) is the correct one ?
The sales link you refered, can not be found on the Sluga Gosudarev website on my computers in Canada.
Please explain why ?
Please do not judge me by not using a link that i can not legally verify.
I would purchase both of the english subtitled version, if they are legally obtainable.
