Will it have an international theatrical release ?
Or is that one of the other really good pruductions that will be just made for the russian speaking puplic.
Is the west blocking russian movies for political reasons?

Unlikely. It's ok to watch it on DVD - the movie is not that good really. It was intented to be a mini-series and it was shot as a mini-series. And they will air it as a mini-series in Russia... So it passes way to quick - no character development, questonable motives. If you know Russian history - you will be able to understand (you'll still have questions though - like "hmm... was it really like that? I've heard and read different...") if you don't - it will seems like a number of episodes simply edited togehter and loosely connected.

Would really like to see this in a theatre, both because some of the subject matter is interesting - when did you lst see a movie on the Russian revolution showing it from the "white" side? - and because some of it was actually shot in Siberia. Unfortunately nearly no post-Soviet Russian films make it to theatres in Scandiinavia and probably not this one.
