What was the gay scene in Foxcatcher?

"Schultz, who had previously appeared supportive of the film, reportedly wrote on Facebook and Twitter: “The personalities and relationships between the characters in the film are primarily fiction and somewhat insulting. Leaving the audience with a feeling that somehow there could have been a sexual relationship between DuPont and I is a sickening and insulting lie.”

He added: “I told Bennett Miller to cut that scene out and he said it was to give the audience the feeling that duPont was encroaching on your privacy and personal space. I wasn’t explicit so I didn’t have a problem with it. Then after reading 3 or 4 reviews interpreting it sexually, and jeopardising my legacy, they need to have a press conference to clear the air, or I will.”

I saw the movie but I can't remember the scene in question at this point

It's the scene where John approaches Mark at night and asks him to practice some wrestling moves in the gallery room. The scene in the gallery has all the lights out and John is on top of Mark wrestling him.

Like Mark said it wasn't explicit as both men are fully clothed, but with the low lighting and John thrusting his hips on Mark's backside and John moaning and grunting on top of him, it gives off a sexual air. It's also a pivotal moment in the movie because their relationship is different from that point forwards prior to what it was in the first half of the movie. Although I think there are subtle hints before that scene that foreshadow what is to come.

If you've ever wrestled before, that's exactly what it's like. A bunch of dudes in spandex rolling around each other, grunting and panting hard. It's why "wrestling" gets made fun of as the homo-erotic sport.

It's probably a couple of scenes but most notable to me is the scene where Mark is cutting John's hair and sitting with him wearing just his underwear

There's subtext but nothing definite. For example Mark's (first?) night at the manor, John calls to the door and Mark is shirtless. They also hug each other very affectionately after Mark wins a gold medal and stay in the hug for a little longer than you'd expect of a coach and student. As another poster mentioned, Mark is seen cutting his hair and walking around in underwear around him. And the part where John insists that he be in Mark's corner looks more like a jealous lover. The entire set-up - John paying for Mark to live on the premises - does parallel a 'kept woman' situation. If you replaced either John or Mark in the story with a woman, it would instantly look like a twisted sexual relationship.

the drug abuse and the turning on your wonderful brother were not sickening and insulting?

for the record, there is nothing wrong with being gay -- there is something wrong with cocaine abuse and turning on your family
