Frailty+TCM + Hostle= Bereavement

I cannot understand the praise heaped on this movie. I've seen many scifi/chiller channel originals that were at least on par with this one if not better. There was nothing new or original here.Granted, there are a few suprises but the rehashed "maniac lives in abandoned factory and torture/kills young girls " has been done over and over again. The characters seem to have been ripped from the old book of cliches and some of the stupid things they do had me rooting for the killer by the movies end.
Keep in mind this is a prequel to the movie Malevolence, which I found disappointing as well.Look for it on SCIFi channel this fall during the Saturday/Sunday afternoon filler slots.

Where did you see the movie?
And I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it! ^_^, hopefully the next movie you see will make up for it. Honestly!

My wife is part of some internet review site where we recieve movies just days before they are released. In return, she is supposed to write an honest review to submit back to the site. She may have enjoyed it more than me as I have not seen her review yet.She knows mine as I can be pretty vocal with my critiques while watching movies.
Don't hold my feet to the fire but I believe it was an Amazon.com deal. We recieved Broken Lizard's movie Slammin' Salmon as well as others before they are released.

Oh that is very cool! =] What is your wife's review site? I'd love to read her review of Bereavement. I'm a huge horror buff, so this film I have been VERY ecstatic for all year (I missed it in theatres). When i read that you just saw it, I got confused ^_^

Thanks for the response by the way!

and what a horribly inaccurete description, nothing like Texas Chainsaw, and every death in Hostel was torture for pleasure, this had zero torture, he would kill them and quick, never taking off fingers or any of that sick crap, and he didnt do it for pleasure, he did it because he was fkd up in the head and felt he had to, big difference there

I wouldn't go as far as calling him a "moron" but he definitely lacks the depth it takes to fully comprehend deeper meanings in film, as well as the technical aspect of filmmaking.

Yes, if only Fog had the depth needed to understand the movie that masterfully sets up the saga about the guy who kills people wearing a bag on his head.

Also while it wasn't a torture movie like Hostel, it's not that off off comparison since there's all of these scenes of women tied up and screaming and screaming.

Man, some of you guys are really defensive. So he didn't like your little slasher movie, get over it.

Haven't been around (coz' this movie wasn't good). Its' okay Muhhh. Almost everyone posting here was involved in the production of this movie. They are angry because, even with a direct to dvd release, this movie will remain obscure and hardly seen by anyone.
With regards to my comparisons-
Frailty (no one mentioned that one for obvious reasons)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre- atmosphere/ slaughterhouse setting/ meat hooks
Hostel- women hanging/tied up,waiting for their turn to be murdered
fanboys,...sheesh

Whether or not people are killed in a film, has nothing to do with it's deeper meaning. I'm sure you know this, and are just being facetious, at least I hope. Maybe you are that shallow as to generalize and and use surface judgment in your day to day life, I don't know, I don't know you.
