Bar scene, after car breakdown

I wanted to say that the scene was particularly well done-no dialogue, just characters expressions to convey emotion. It was also well paced, with no emphasis put by slowing time down or emphasizing what the father does with the beautiful women or having the characters confront each other afterward.
This film is kinda a cross between something the Dardennes brothers would make and Mike Leigh's direction- not as subdued as the Dardennes and without as high drama as Leigh ( such as in Secrets and Lies).

Denis specializes in communicating ideas and story through small gestures and with minimal expository dialogue. The scene you're referring to is in my opinion the most beautiful in this film, and one of the most beautiful scenes in her oeuvre.

there is a very loud amusement park right in front of my present lodgings
