its seriously not that bad

its really not as bad as everyone says it is. I avoided it for a long time, but a family member started urging me to watch it with them, which I did, and now we are gonna watch all of them in order. it keeps my interest which is what is important to me.

Everyone has different tastes, and you shouldn't let anyone dictate what you should and shouldn't watch/read. I've enjoyed a lot of books/shows/movies that others told me weren't worth my time. And I've hated books/shows/movies that others told me were worth my time. Now I listen to my gut. If something piques my interest, I give it a chance. If it doesn't, I don't waste time on it.

I hope you like/enjoy the rest of the movies.

I am the same way other people comments on any particular movie "this movie is stupid" "what were they thinking!?" ME "I love this movie!"

reply

Yes. We all have different tastes. Why can't we just agree to disagree? Live and let live?

"a family member started urging me to watch it"

Like your 8 years old cousin?

We all have different tastes. Some of us like movies with good emotional acting, intriguing storyline, wonderful and witty dialogue, and gripping morals. Then some of us like Twilight.

I personally think it is, especially compared to the book (which I love). I wish they had picked a better director and gave it the same kind of budget the other movies had. They could have done so much better.
I hated many of the actors they hired (except Bella, Edward, Jessica, Charlie, Jasper, and maybe a couple of others). The directing is terrible, the pacing is off, the dialogue often cringe-worthy, the editing is choppy, the special effects goofy, and the absolute worst part is the vampire make-up. Throws me off every time, especially when Carlisle enters for the first time.
The other movies are much better overall, but of course they couldn't switch out the unsuitable actors.
There are moments that are well done (when she asks how old he is, for example) and I think they were spot on when it comes to the music. But it's not a good movie. I wish it was. I wish they would keep the actors I mentioned and re-made the whole thing with someone more talented in charge and a higher budget.

These movies got a lot of hate from the more immature fanboys who didn't like seeing a female-centric franchise become a big pop-culture hit. They're very entertaining movies, for the most part.

I thought it was great. It reminded me of a great start to a horror franchise, such as Nightmare on Elm Street or Scream. I can't think of another horror movie since Scream that introduced interesting characters or a facinating storyline. Robert and Kristen's acting is also top notch and I loved the love story.

I enjoyed the books - I usually cast actors in my head, so when the movies come out I'm always a bit disappointed - I also thought the movies could've been cut down to only 3 - Just my opinion -However I'd like to see a series or mini-series on a movie channel covering much more material beginning with Carlisle becoming a vampire -Just my POV

Lions Gate bought Starz, so we just might get a series. (With spin offs, maybe. *crosses-fingers*) They had mentioned a Twilight TV series just after BD2 came out.

It was just your average teeny bopper type movie, but it wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. I think because the main vampires didn't kill humans and sparkled in the sun made it completely laughable to most. Replace them with how vampires traditionally act in movies and the ratings/reviews probably would have been a little more forgiving. haha
