Regarding Alexander Pearce, there is a fictional movie called, Dying Breed. Also Van Diemens Land which tells of the true conditions they lived in. This movie is not factual in that it shows the prison camp as being habitable, which it was not at all. It was very gruelling, and it does show that a bit in this movie too, but doesn't show the true conditions they had to live in.
However, if you really want to a more recent true story that occurred in my lifetime is "Alive." It was about the Andes plane crash in 1972 with the Rugby team where the pilot hit a mountain, probably due to the altitude they were flying where the pilot became very disoriented, there is a name for what happened.
Anyway, the movie is very factual about what happened. The search was called off leaving them stranded with no sign of hope of a rescue and left to fend for themselves. They were there for two months before three guys went to try to get help. They had to resort to cannibalism in order to survive. We read it when I was in the 6th grade, though I think we got the edited version. It is a true story and it was very good, well worth watching.
The Donner Party is another one, but I was not impressed with that one, but that really happened too. I don't know if there was an earlier film about the Donner Party, but the new one is not very good.
