Unique and Enjoyable.

I just watched this and it was another very good DC animated film.

The main theme is that when you have a very good person, no matter what they are exposed to, what they are led to believe, and what negative things they do, they will always go back to baseline and return to being a great person.

As with so many comic book stories, it's a great message for people who have gone through troubled times.

On a funny, crappy American note, Superman eliminates poverty etc by telling people what to do via Marxism and making sure they do it. This is seen as "bad" in favor of American "choice" which is to be "free" to live in the gutter, have no money, and advantages, because we all need to make our own decisions, lol.

I was rooting for communist Superman the whole time and was like, this is great!

That's not the message though.

reply

If communism has a Superman it sure will work.

reply

I was all for it, lol.

I have spent my whole life working for socialist organization and I was like, yes! Superman is solving poverty!!

In the original comics, he would go after cheap capitalists. In one issue, this slumlord had a terrible building and the people in it were suffering. Superman found them new places and went and shook the building apart in front of the landlord's face.

I like that kind of thing because I would do it if I could.

reply

It only worked because they had Brainiac on their side (or so they thought).
Optimizing an entire economy is beyond the capabilities of any person or group of people. Individuals free to fail and free to succeed, with other individuals free to invest in them, will always find a better solution over time, because the resources go to those who are the best at multiplying them. In a communist state, the resources go to those in control. If people get too prosperous, the state is threatened. It's what China is facing now, and why they crack down on billionaires.

reply

Ah, I wish we actually can crack down on unethical billionaire pricks like Bezos and Zuckerberg.

reply

COOL!

reply

A very well done show.

I wish DC would get it together and make quality live action.

reply

SMART!

reply

RADICAL!

reply

Agreed. The movie really had it all. Superman, Wonder Woman, v Batman, v Green Lantern Core, v Bizarro, v Lex, v Brainiac... world domination... all in one movie, and yet it didn't feel cramped.

(and origin stories for Superman, Batman, Bizarro, Hal Jorden in just one movie)

reply

I just feel that it has not enough action scenes.

reply

Agreed, I thought it was pretty decent, and you explained why well.

reply

The commie Kara on Supergirl was pretty good too.

reply

How about a superman who realizes that Commies are Evil MoFos and overthrows the N Korean, Cuba, and Venezuela dictatorships?

reply

What are you, Stalin?
