Who killed the wife?

is the original she is killed by the husband himself, unwillingly, I heard.

In this versiosn, it was not possible for him to harpoon her. She was too far away.

So, do they mean to show us that "nature" took a harpoon and killed her??? Is that it? So, if that is possible, why did nature used such a realistic and plausible device to kill the husband??? Why not harpoon him as well? And why not unlock the Rovers door and let the poor dog out?

reply

I assumed it was the husband when he was shooting at the rustling in the bushes. I thought she was too far away, too, but I think they were supposed to be going in circles because of the arrow on the tree showing up a few times.

Yes, I felt so sorry for the poor dog being left in the vehicle like that without anyone left to let him out!

I've already seen the worst movie ever made, so it can only be uphill from there.

reply

So, did the guy shoot a harpoon when he heard noises at night?

I remember him shooting a rifle. Not sure if he used the harpoon. But if you say so...

reply

He shot the rifle straight up at birds, then he went out of bullets and took the harpoon. I presume his wife went for the shots and he somehow managed to hit her with the harpoon.

reply

I just watched it, I dont remember him shooting the harpoon either, i know he was shooting the rifle around, but not the harpoon?

Also after all that *beep* with the wife about not leaving the dog behind, he leaves the dog in the car and runs off?? what the hell lol.

That's exactly what I was thinking. After all that, he left the dog behind? I should not be surprised because he was certainly irrational. Who in their right mind would stand in the middle of the road to flag down a semi? Even if the driver had tried to stop, he couldn't have in time.

I don't know who was more annoying him or his wife.

reply

him! haha
only because the wife was played by claudia karvan and when i was like 13 i had the BIGGEST crush on her for years xD, so whenever i look at her it reminds me of that, so that overrode the annoyingness of the character a little bit for me xD
BUT if it was played by any one else id probably be just as annoyed with her as i was with him lol.

Oh, I thought his wife was killed by the indigenous tribal people of Australia? She could be mistaken as an intruder or something.

Probably killed her himself at night.

You must be the Anti-Christ. No one else would put such a stupid note into a forum about movies. If you are serious: It's not something to be proud of.

I don't know but i was glad !

What a whining crying hoe. They both were jerks but she's the biggest a-hole between the two.

She's always bitching.
She lies about the dog being dead.
She left Peter all alone.

Plus she had a abortion

She deserved to die. I was glad when i saw her harpooned face.

LOL, I love when people spell SPOILERS "SPOLIERS". Seems there's at least one (or more) on every movie board.

It makes no sense that he would not let Cricket make a run for it too. At this point, I'm not even sure he closed the door considering how often he and the wife left the car door open during the moving.

Anyway, the dog should be fine because I'm sure the sea cow will works its way up there and open the door soon enough given all the other implausible things that occurred. Or maybe a tree limb will drop down for no reason whatsoever and finishing breaking the front window out.

LOL!!!

reply

Yeah I konooooow...! Felt sorry for the dog!

reply

Right after he ran out of bullets he picked up the Harpoon and fired it at the bushes, then the noise in the bushes stopped. The scene ended after that. I was confused at first too.

Yeah, leaving the dog behind was horrible, but he wasn't rational at the time, he found out his wife was dead, not to mention the Seacow was laying next to him at the campsite when it was supossedly dead.

reply

Exactly. This is how I saw the "wife" thing too. She was almost to him (kept going in circles herself) and when she hit the tree, she got out of the car and I'm assuming she heard him making noise and headed that way and he heard her (but of course doesn't realize it's her) making noise in the bushes and shoots. If you notice, he did get a look on his face that to me said: he did shoot whatever it was that was making the noise. So he ends up killing her with out meaning to. He leaves the dog in the car because he's just not thinking. I wasn't crazy about him dying at the end. But in a way it was good cause he became "road kill" which I actually think would have been a better title for this movie. I really enjoyed it and thought they both gave wonderful performances. I really felt bad for all the animals. I hated how she lied about the dog being dead. Didn't realize just how selfish she was until then although the eagle egg was pretty hard to take. Missed the first 30 mins of the movie and am looking forward to it playing again so I can see what I missed!
