Such a simple premise and transferable to any city in the world.

The genius is in the simplicity and I wouldn't be surprised if filmmakers from other countries lift the premise or remake it in other cities.

It's interesting that Adrift in Manhattan also came out in 2007. Different premise but similar theme of intersecting streets & intersecting lives.
