Great film

I met Wyatt Weed and Gayle Gallagher at this past weekend's Midwinter convention in Milwaukee. After talking with them both I decided to take time out of the convention to go sit and watch the screening of this film. I am so glad I did. This is not one of your typical been there done that, got the plot line within the first five minutes kind of movie. This film redefined set vampire norms and challenged them. If you are looking for a film that gives you gore and mindless entertainment that you do not have to think to get, this film is not for you.
If you enjoy having what you thought you knew challenged and having to think for yourself to reach conclusions in the story, you will probably like and get this film. Thank you Wyatt for a great film, I really do hope you continue to make more like it.

Thanks for the kind words, Kristi. I couldn't agree with you more - this film is not for the gorehounds or people looking to get a glimpse of Caitlin's breasts!

I hope more vampire fans - and indie film enthusiasts - discover the movie. We worked really hard on it and I am absolutely going to make more. Maybe we'll see you next Midwinter.

OK, yes, her implants. They could be cabbages, for all the more some guys care, they just want to SEE them.

That's actually the PATENTED side boob shot...

It was discussed, yes. Some may think we should have made this a full-out exploitation film, but we really didn't want to go there - it's not that kind of film. Caitlin (the actress) said she was willing to go nude, but I got the sense that she wasn't thrilled by the idea. Then we started shooting it and realized that it could be implied without really showing it, so we decided to keep it clean. You KNOW that once we'd gone down that road, that's all the film would have been know for. Caitlin is beautiful, and she has beautiful enhanced breasts, but I figure we can always make another film called CAITLIN'S BREASTS, or BREASTS OF THE VAMPIRE, and then people will know exactly what they're getting.

While we were shooting the scene, it was just me, make-up, the DP, sound, and the lighting guy. Everyone else had to wait outside. And they weren't happy about it.

The real irony in all of this is that we were shooting for a PG-13 rating, and then got slapped with an R. If I had even suspected we were going to get an R, I would have shot the nude stuff and held onto it just in case. Trust me, it's a lesson I will keep in mind on the next one.

I saw and purchased Shadowland at the Midwinter Gaming Convention in January and today made the 8th time I have watched it. I love the movie and am very eager to know if there is any movement toward a sequel to Shadowland. I remember during the Discussion Session there was consideration about it.

We're still open to the idea of a sequel, but to be honest, the film hasn't succeeded yet. It's out there, and it's selling slowly, but it hasn't made a profit yet. I doubt we could get the investors to bite on a sequel until we make up the debt on first one.

Part of the problem here is that from the time we started making this film (late 2006) to when it was finished (late 2008) to when it was actually distributed (late 2010) the market changed DRASTICALLY. Many retailers and rental chains folded, and we couldn't achieve the sheer number of copies in the marketplace that we wanted. Rental outlets like Redbox are so pressed for space that even though they liked the film, they couldn't carry it. We had a deal with Blockbuster, and they folded before the deal could go through. Pay per view and digital download are there, but they aren't the windfall that you'd think they are, not yet.

Anyway, you probably heard me rant about all of this at the convention. We haven't given up, and we're still pushing to get the film into as many markets as is possible. Also, we are hoping to get a Netflix pick-up at some point, we just need 20,000 people to request it before they will place an order. Tell your friends to put it on their Netflix list!

I'l eep yu informed.

Just my 2 cents from Germany here...

I watched the movie first time a few months ago, now I watch it again. This means I liked it ;)

Well, the first few minutes are terrible, but once the story gets going its a rather good movie. The story is excellent.

I rated the movie 6 out of 10. So the rating here isnt that bad. For a low budged indie movie its excellent work. Congratulations.

We love Germans!

I am sorry that the movie wasnt published here as far as I know. Anyway dubbing would cost a fortune I guess. What projects you have in the pipeline now ;)

Hey dyter07

Where are you located? We just got an international rep, and I can let you know if it will be offered where you are. Also, I don't know if there will be much dubbing in other countries, but subtitling is a pretty easy option.

Anywhere there is interest in the film, we will send that along to our sales rep.

Thanks,

Oh - you also asked what we had going on right now...

We are planning a romantic comedy with another director spring 2012, and then late next summer 2012 I would like to do another horror film, a story about spooky weird things going on in a small town.
