Enjoyed the film

Darius should be commended for his bravery in allowing viewers to see a part of his troubled past and his desire to appologize to the victims for his wrongdoings. Even though the film was layered with commentary on race and economic inequalities, a child's fragile nature and human nature's imperfection, it never came across as an excuse or justification for his actions.
I would like to know what kind of camera and techniques were utilized to capture the scenes (reenactments, interviews and b-roll). The film had a film noir kind of feel for me, especially during the reenactments. I kept finding myself thinking it was either shot on film or a VHS camera. I think it worked well and I haven't noticed other docs implementing that technique before.

They don't because it looks like crap. Goes to jail for a botched robbery, and gets out to major in film...Jesus Christ, I'd consider that a violation of his parole, give him another 10 years in jail to learn how to rob banks right
