It's still being reviewed by potential distributors.

We'll post the info here as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, check out the official RED VELVET website for the most up-to-date info.

You're right. That was put up some time ago (just didn't notice that it was creeping up). We're still hammering out the distribution details. We would like to see it out before the end of the year, but it's looking like early 2009 now. We'll keep you posted here...or check back on the official website or MySpace page for more up-to-the-minute info.

Thanks for hanging in there. We want you to be able to see Red Velvet for yourself!

New Cult Favorite, Red Velvet Brings Back the Best of Horror in Debut DVD Exclusively Available on Amazon.com

Horror Film Starring Henry Thomas and Kelli Garner Slashes into Homes Nationwide – August 28, 2009

Horror fans everywhere, hold on to your hats…! Red Velvet, an edgy and fast-paced new feature film with terrifying and fun twists and turns makes its way to DVD for the first time. Starring Henry Thomas and Kelli Garner, Red Velvet from 3Mac Studios will be available exclusively on Amazon.com on DVD and digital download beginning August 28, 2009.

Light years from his memorable performance as Elliot in E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial and other more recent films, including Gangs of New York, Legends of the Fall, and Suicide Kings, Mr. Thomas stars as Aaron, a charismatic and intriguing, yet darkly peculiar outcast evocative of the classic Norman Bates and Hannibal Lector. Mr. Thomas is paired with another young talent, Ms. Garner (as Linda) who has played opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in The Aviator and currently stars in Disney’s G-Force. After meeting his neighbor Linda at the local laundromat, Aaron soon learns she is disappointed about missing a birthday bash that is to take place with her friends at a remote cabin in the woods. To entertain Linda, Aaron, a storyteller, constructs a terrifying tale featuring a psychopathic killer that systematically and gruesomely murders all the guests at the party. Linda becomes more engaged as the mayhem mounts in Aaron’s story, even contributing some of her own ideas along the way. As Aaron’s yarn unfolds, the sexual tension between the mysterious stranger and his “hot” blonde neighbor continues to build with each scene as viewers are rapidly moved to its horrific climax.

Red Velvet is a refreshing alternative to today’s onslaught of “torture porn” horror movies. The new film harkens back to famed 80s slasher films such as A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th, while paying homage to Mario Bava and Dario Argento’s horror flicks of the 60s and 70s. The movie was shot on 35mm film, rendering the colors and composition even more vivid and arresting in a digital age. Avid horror fans also will spot the late Forrest J Ackerman in his final cameo appearance. The legendary editor of Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine inspired many top names in the film business and horror genres such as Tim Burton, John Landis, and Steven Spielberg, as well as Red Velvet co-producer, co-writer, and co-production designer, Joe Moe and producer, Sean Fernald. “We are thrilled to bring this smart and stylish film to DVD and reclaim the glory days of the genre,” Mr. Fernald said. “We created the feature from the script up to seduce more than just horror lovers. It is a character driven, deconstructed slasher film that is over the top, bloody fun for everyone!”

Red Velvet’s complex plot features two parallel stories to keep viewers on the edge of their seat throughout the entire 87-minute film. With its unique mix of genres and exaggerated kill scenes that posses a surprisingly comedic element, Red Velvet holds much broad-based appeal. As Aaron and Linda collaborate to create the horrifying tale, both Linda and audiences find themselves hanging on to Aaron’s every word to hear what happens next. Together, they create the perfect maniac – a contemporary killer that resembles a twisted bunny with speakers for ears, an LED grin and Polaroid headgear. As he approaches his victims, they are first assaulted by the sounds of his last kill before meeting with their own deadly fate. Viewers will squirm as they try to distinguish between fantasy and reality in this frightening rollercoaster ride that quickly gains steam as it reaches its shocking end.
