Almost good writer

Peele seems very good at writing slow-burning suspense. But then it flat out fizzles. Maybe he should write only first hour of a movie then let someone else more competent finish it.
This guy makes me think about George RR Martin - good concept, good start, good build-up then he starts side plotlines which make no sense and contribute nothing to the story and it seems like he had no idea in the first place on how to wrap up the story.
