... about Joe Biden. Should have called it "Not a Sleepy Joe Movie"

reply

Most people will think its shit. Glaring plot holes galore, the most ridiculous is that humans can grow that much in weight and size without consuming ungodly amounts of food so that the human body has the material needed to grow... Spoiler... if the baby dies by starvation then shouldn't everyone of the kids done the same thing? If everything part of the human bodies is moving at hyper speed then shouldn't the new mother has had her tits expand to the bursting point from the rapid buildup of milk that was never going to get drained fast enough? If every aspect of the people was moving at hyper speed then why weren't the all just constantly gorging on food and water while constantly pissing and shitting? If every part of a human system is operating on an accelerated timeline then you would need much more pissing and shitting to get rid of the human waste that would naturally be building at a much faster rate.

No we can just say it was a poorly thought out piece of shit movie.

All of that is just as illogical and ridiculous as the U.S. President being someone who is as feeble and senile as Joe Biden is.

But at least with 'Old', you get to leave the theater after an hour and a half.

why do you people incept political crap into everything? I'd really like to know. guessing you only have one hobby...

reply

Not sure why you're responding to me. I'm not the one who injected politics into the discussion of this movie.

reply

oh I see... good point :D

reply

You didn't start the politics but you did respond to it, instead of ignoring it.

reply

And you responded to me, instead of the one who started this thread. Or you could've taken your own advice and ignored all of it.

reply

True. Wise advice. I think I will take it.

How can one inject "rational thinking" into a science fictional situation where nothing is actually developing in a rational way. This is not necessarily to say tht I think that all of YOUR ideas are rational either.
When we see science fiction or horror depicting "impossible" situations, we have to suspend the natural laws we know of and accept all sorts or irrational possibilities that might arise.
WE simply CANT apply common sense or scientific explanations to explain things.
We may try, but it wont work. That is the point of the story and the dilemma the characters are faced with. There is no real way to predict a future outcome.

reply

It isn't trying to inject common sense as much as it is trying to have a movie that has some continuity in their science fiction. The baby starving is a perfect example. They clearly define a need for lots of calories going into a lifeform to maintain it due to the hyper-speed aging. Okay... that makes sense. But it doesn't make sense for that same rue not to be applied to the kids. Yes you can ignore it for the adults because adults don't grow and need anymore matter to help increase the size of their bones or bodies.. but that doesn't explain why the boy doesn't starve to death like the baby since he more than doubled in size. Those types of things are where the storey became shit. In good science fiction when they have a made up thing it stays consistent it doesn't just randomly follow the laws of the fiction and then stop.
