Fun movie - Needed more weight to it

Just came back... quick reactions...

Not a lot of time before you're thrown into the action. It's 90% blue screen but you get used to it. Some laugh-out-loud moments, decent effects, and Rudd's charm holds it all together.

One nice highlight was Michelle Pfeiffer. I'd argue it was as much her movie as Rudd's, and she did a great job.

The issue I had with it was Cassie, Ant-Man's daughter. The actress who played her was wooden, with zero gravitas. In a couple parts where she should have shown some raw emotion, she was wooden and flat. There was no weight to her emotional scenes and I think a better actress would have elevated those critical scenes with some depth.

The last 20 minutes is action-packed and quite a blast, but I never felt that anyone was really in danger. There seemed to be a different ending and they decided to swap it out at the last second to play it safe. It would have been much better to leave it the way it seemed to be going. When you see it you'll know what I'm talking about.

Here's your random stranger's opinion - Middle-of-the-road Marvel movie, which means it's better than all the Phase 4 movies. If you're a Marvel fan you'll like it a lot. It's worth a matinee ticket.
