It may have been her choice, but that doesn't make it a good one, and an actress does not have the final say on hairstyles anyway, so ultimately it's still someone else's choice to allow it. I had no issues with golden boobs.
shareI think it was for convenience, if they're going to have her stuck in the middle of nowhere and be bashed around for ages, better to start with a haircut that was short and casually and deliberately scruffy. That way, the makeup department wouldn't have to keep track of a fancier hairstyle getting progressively messier.
