Daniel Bruhl plays a traveling musician in this film. He comes to a small village in (I believe) Pais Vasco, and he meets and moves in with an old brother and sister living in the village. The brother in the film suffers from dementia and his sister is his caregiver. Throughout the film we get glimpses of one summer in the 30s or the 40s and characters from the brother's past. It's a great movie, with a relaxed pace. Definitely made me want to go travel through smaller towns in the North East of Spain.
