Where were upper caste Hindus

I could not see upper caste Hindus in movie?
further why did not Nandita Das remarry after so many years and no news. In India this is norm for low caste women.

because the movie was about low caste hindu family there was no upper caste hindu characters therefore you didn't see any also I think most upper caste hindus live in the big cities anyway.

Its because Upper-Class Hindus (no concept of 'caste' in Pakistan) are blended in with upper class Muslims, Christians and Sikhs in Pakistan. The movie is based on real events which might not have had anything to do with Upper Caste Hindus; besides Pakistanis do not care about caste system and there is only a clear divide there between the really rich and the really poor as far as classes are concerned.

But remember that her foreman, with whom she was romantically involved for awhile, was higher caste than she was. Maybe not "high caste," but higher caste.

I was wondering about the temple she went to several times. I thought dalits weren't allowed to go into temples. Is that false? Or are there temples for low-caste people and temples for high-caste people? If there are temples for low-caste people, what kind of priests do they have? Brahmins?

The temple she hid in for awhile was fascinating. Looked like it might be 1,000 years old. Are there many old, abandoned temples like that in India and Pakistan?
