Kelly and Shevonne's "feminism"

It's always so destructive to the cause when horrible women exploit and bastardize (puns intended) feminism to justify their horrible behavior and attitudes.

Kelly has redeeming qualities as a person. But Shevonne does not.

And when they start screaming for people to not say anything negative, essentially at all, about any woman celeb (not until they hate one, then it's suddenly open season) all they do is demean the womens' movement with their self-righteous, cherry-picking indignance.

They seem stuck in a '90s, third wave (or is it second wave?) version of feminism where their vagina makes them intrinsically "right" no matter what they say, do or however they act.

Shevonne, in particular, is a vile, conetemptible -- and contemptuous -- creature (Kelly is not) shrieking at her co-workers (especially the more vulnerable ones) that "Shut up, everybody hates you!!!" as if she's standing up for the cause of 'freedom' because she momentarily doesn't like the way they worded something.

What a dire waste of organs, epidermis and sinew she is.

Prometheus, I hope you know that---despite my consistently glowing (and perhaps annoying) celebration of Shevonne's physicality (she IS beyond extraordinarily beautiful), I, too, have the same extreme reservations regarding her personal character, and the apparent ease in which she slips into arbitrary meanness! Because I like Kelly so much more as an individual (besides which I also happen to maintain she is also extraordinarily pretty), I don't see as much your "cherry picking feminism" accusation as it applies to her (and, pertaining to gorgeous, yet hopelessly socially addled Shevonne, I don't even see any brand of feminism even entering the picture!) In short, I am in total agreement of any harsh label you affix to Shevonne (she seems to wear her meanness as a badge of honor), yet I feel your assessment of Kelly's feminist politics is unduly harsh!

Kelly is articulate, and can support her points far better. But she, too, can slip into "My God, I cannot believe you just said that about a woman!" malarkey when it isn't justified quite often herself.

But she isn't as reprehensible by any stretch. And, no major offense, but anyone who finds Shevonne even physically to be "beyong extraordinarily beautiful" has an interesting alternative take on the world.

LOL, Prometheus, no major offense taken (besides which, we've already had a very similar exchange on this board once before---and no major offense was taken then, either!) I feel that---as long as people are respectful toward others with whom they disagree (and you always have been with me!), any dissenting opinion should be able to be freely expressed! I know I frequently go overboard with the "Shevonne love" on this board, so (even though I'm in complete agreement regarding her frequently toxic personality) I'm grateful that her even more ferocious detractors have shown relative restraint not to completely skewer me over my frequently effusively praiseworthy posts!

No woman is ever in the wrong -- unless they hate her. And no man is ever in the right.

And if you point out their hypocrisies, they do what all third wave "feminists" now do when (easily) caught in a lie, as they so often are: they hold up their hand and say "just stop!"

Horrible.

Do they think this actually helps the movement? Of course not. It just helps them "be right" at any given moment, especially when they're not.
