Spooky slow burn

Sweet River is a really slow burn, doling out tidbits of information in small increments. It can make the proceedings seem to move at a glacial pace, but it actually helps the movie build and maintain suspense and dread. The sum may not be quite as great as the parts, but overall it’s a satisfying watch. Kudos to the music score, which lends a really creepy, otherworldly vibe.
