shareI love this part:
"You don't ask Sean Connery to play with a French accent," says Coco Chanel director Christian Duguay. "You don't ask Shirley MacLaine to play with a French accent."
And MacLaine wouldn't have taken the role on those terms. "I'm not Meryl Streep," she quips.
Shirley speaks the truth.
I guess that explains everything. Not much more to say after that except to doom herself to be labelled as "miscast" by almost everyone.
Santa Fe? Really? I did not know she lived here. I was born in Santa Fe, live in Albuquerque and ironically Coco Chanel was my motivation to want to be a part of the Georgia O'Keeffe movie Lifetime is rolling in because of the film. I always wanted to do a period piece and couldn't resist after seeing Coco Chanel. By the way, Joan Allen is very lovely as Georgia.
I don't speak whatever.
Thank you for the link!
