To the people that didn't like this short I'd like to say give it another view, really look at the details. See if you can make connections between the characters and their little idiosyncrasies and what they're doing and why and what it might mean. For me it's all about the toothpick.

I like this short and I think the performances are solid, but I don't think it stands alone, so it's a bit frustrating to watch.
Maybe I will watch it again. Originally, all it did for me was set up Jack's relationship story. I guess it also kind of leads into how he goes after the train girl. I just bought the DVD today so I might have to rewatch the short.
