No good

No suspense. No pace. No character depth. No attempt to age the characters in the last episode. No wonder everyone switched over to 'Casualty 1907'.

Certainly was.But Mel Raido's Porter was as much a cypher as anyone else, a standard whacko film psycho, and Steven Robertson's Bowie lookalike was totally underdeveloped. And the last episode, in which Rafe Spall and his son looked the same age, was pitiful. Couldn't they afford a make-up artist?

i've never seen the long firm (might check it out on dvd....2 good leads and everyone seems to love it) and never read the book. and i thought this was pretty good, it felt like an epic story, spanning 20 years n'all.
but i agree with the aging comments, i looked on here and the guy that plays franks son is 2 years older than the guy that plays frank, didnt help rafe never looked a day over 25 throughout the whole thing. they aged kelly reilly a little, but the reporter and billy when he shaved looked like it was just a day later.

good story though...didnt they mention he took down the guy from the last one and got promoted?

How did they put this rubbish on at peak viewing time? Really wanted to like this but it was really really bad and goes to show that ITV can't do period dramas. Too bad the BBC didnt mak this it would have been far better.
