Who was Bobby's father

I thought it was the guy who wanted to marry Ester but wondered was it Frank or did i get it all wrong and the dad is someone else.

I'm under the assumption that it's Frank.

Yes, it was Frank. 'Nice girls' of that class didn't sleep around in those days, not even the artistic free spirits like Esther. I think she fancied Frank, and would have settled down with him if he'd been agreeable, i.e., not in love with Ada.

The only person she was shown having sex with was Frank.

I think it was Frank too, that is sad he never knew, since it seemed he never married or had any kids. Maybe I missed that part.

At the airport when Marjorie was leaving, Esther asked her if she wanted to know who Bobby's father was. She stood behind Frank and put her hands on his shoulders. So, I'm guessing, Frank is the father.
