It's about Katie

For awhile Katie has appeared on Heartland my opinion her lines have not improved. They are using short quick scenes with two or three words. She basically ruining the show. Seriously there has to be others seeing this. I love the show right from the beginning they need to replace the character Katie. It's a shame to fast forward every time she comes on.

I have no issue with her, but they could easily just have her go with Lou for the ever increasing number of episodes she's missing and then be spending time with also offscreen Peter the rest if it was determined she was an actual problem.

With her parents both being such non factors on the show, there's little need for her to be around, at her age.

i don't see it that way...

she lives with her aunt...she lives with her great-grandfather and great grandmother.......and all that....so why should she be a non-factor, when most of the other time the show is about them...

and lou until this year wasn't always MIA>.....

the actress wants to work on other stuff, and that's why she's MIA, to do so.......she oculdn't in the first few years of her life, because she had two kids back to back...they just didnt' write in the second pregnancy...and all that...

so why should she be a non-factor...when she lives with the rest of her family....and what's lou going to do the usual and hire a nanny all the time....

she has people to look after her, who love her while lou and peter are traveling.....and that's the way it should be....

for me, i grew up with my grandparents, and i still miss them.....as far as i say that little girl is lucky to have all that family around especially three grandparents....

the kid is what five......i say give her a break...

and up until this year she really couldn't say all that much anyway.....because of her age, and because of the time that she was allowed on screen...

i think that she's doing a wonderful job...

what are they like alot of other shows, just supposed to forget that she even exists......

Forgetting that she exists would be a step in the right direction. I'm halfway through season 9 and she's unbearable. I'm almost ready to give up the show as a result.

I hope you don't give it up. It's still a good show. I've finished season 11 and she does have a bit more screen time and she can actually speak now, but there are long stretches where she's not seen. She's really not on enough to make much difference or bother you. It's more a case of giving her screen time just to say, "Remember Katie? She still exists." Not much more.

I will quote what I said before about Katie in a previous thread:

there is a reason why Katie is there, she is Lou & Peter's daughter...while both her parents are too busy pre-occupied with their own careers and traveling and having no time to care for their own daughter, it makes sense for Katie to have a more stable upbringing by living in Heartland so she could be cared for by her grandparents, who are btw much more responsible caregivers than her own workaholic parents.

and like someone else here said, she's just a 5 year old child, give her a break! Jeez with that kind of attitude towards a young kid, I sure hope you don't have any kids of your own...

I agree with OP. I'm on season 9 now and she's just painful to watch (along with Mary Sue, er Georgie). Sounds like she gets worse. Ugh.

She's a Mallory replacement now everything that Mallory used to get upset about being threatened by Georgie now Katie is threatened by Luke.

They repeating themselves.

I’ve been watch season 13 this week ...

The show is still watchable, too bad only ten episodes.

Katie has not gotten any better. Her interactions with Luke are not good at all.

This is a good show that didn’t bother with teaching child actors to act.
