I miss Peter

I wish Lou and Peter could work things out. The new ranch hand is okay but it seems like there is still something there.

reply

Peter made the right call in breaking things up with her. Lou is self-obsessed, control-freak and bossy.

Lou is becoming really out of control and rather too irritating and this week she did it.

When Lou told Peter she could be moving to New York, she told Peter this:

but if I did it you would have to spend more time at Heartland.

It's ridiculous. It's okay for Lou to move away but god forbid Peter does it. God damn double-standard!

reply

I just really like Peter

reply

I miss him too but Lou is just unstable for him or for any guy looking to have a good relationship.

reply

True

reply

didn't Lou get real nosey in Amy and Ty Business can't remember what i read online about her saying

reply

Yes she did she basically yelled take amy for not making any pregnancy decisions

reply

you can't really blame amy for not wanting to make decisions yet its pretty obvious who she misses right now

reply

The only person blaming her is Lou

Let's hope he makes back in one piece or at least, not too botched up.

reply

My sister had a similar situation. Her husband was abroad for work etc. My mom and I harassed her about making decisions...she still didn't make any...and you know what the baby was born and everything was fine. I mean he came and she hadn't even done the nursery yet. I mean yes its better to plan but really you can do most of it when the baby gets here. Yes its more stressful and I probably wouldn't do it...

reply

yes..for the first few months, the baby doesn't need a huge bed, and all that other stuff....

yup

reply

Agreed. She comes off as unstable. Peter or any man should run as far away as possible from Lou. She's such a hypocrite and now expects Peter and her family to do her work for her? No way would I put up with that from my sister.
Of course it's just a show but her character is really unlikable, as her sisters was for a long time.
And why do the females have to be such bitches while the men are foolish? I guess normal people don't make for interesting characters....

reply

so you find Amy, Georgie and Lisa "bitches" too? Just because there's 1 bitchy character on the show, you don't need to generalize "all" female characters on the show as "bitchy"...

I'm not really a feminist per se...BUT I have to admit that I do think alot of the guys on this show are fools...Tim especially can be very foolish, idiotic and a jerk, Peter is also a fool for prioritizing his career over being closer to his family, and Ty is also foolish for prioritizing animals over being with his pregnant wife, Caleb has also done some foolish things in the past.

But that's not to say that "all" guys are fools on this show...just as not "all" females are btches on this show too.

yeah but that's one of the reasons why he divoriced amy and lou's mother...

i'm not too sure...but they didn't make tim as bad in the series as they did in the books....

from what i remember.....he one lives in england....two he's paralysed.....and three, i think that he's a drunk or a drug adict, mind you recovering as well...

so compared to what the book says.....on tim's character...this one's a pretty santised version of what he's like in the book

reply

i actually don't miss him.....i like him, don't get me wrong..and i've seen him and his parents in alot of stuff lately...lol...they all make a bunch of chritmas movies...so

.but i don't miss peter...

susan

reply

They do? I am not Canadian. Are they like the equivalent of American lifetime movies?

reply

I do not miss Peter at all so I'm glad we see less of him now...not that I like Lou either, but I do prefer her with the new ranch hand.

Wasn't it mentioned that Mitch was in the military? yeah he was a soldier for much of his life...then became a ranch hand after he left the military.

Peter never fought for his country in the war...I bet Mitch could really kick Peter's ass in a duel.

I just think they have better chemistry.

reply

Mitch couldn't even shoot down that wolf or whatever it was standing next to Grandpa. Mitch is an OK guy but kind of bland and forgettable, Peter's definitely better.

reply

He couldn't shoot the wolf because it reminded him of his time in the war...many soldiers experience some sort of trauma when they return home, because of all the horrors they saw in the war...many soldiers suffer PTSD because of that.

It's very easy for you and me to criticize their weaknesses when we ourselves have never been in the war, so we can't possibly understand the hardships they go through. One of my cousins was a former Army soldier, he lost his leg when a bomb blew up and he now wears a prosthetic...it's been very hard for him to cope ever since he returned, he still gets nightmares sometimes and suffers from PTSD. So Mitch might have been suffering similar problems since he left the military.
Maybe just the thought of shooting someone or an animal with a gun traumatizes Mitch sometimes...but maybe he can still fight people in a fistfight or something. I know some former military soldiers have problems with using guns or hearing gunshot sounds after they return from the war because it reminds them too much of the war, but they can still use their fists to fight people.
I think if Peter were to challenge Mitch in a fistfight, I bet Mitch would easily win because of his military background and training.

I dare Peter to enlist in the military...I doubt he would have the guts to, since he is the sort who doesn't like confrontations...he would probably barely only last a few days at most in boot camp.

LOL with Mitch's military background and combat training, I'm sure Mitch can kick Peter's ass easily if he wanted to, he might not be able to use a gun anymore, but he still has his fists, he can still fight in hand-to-hand combat. Many former soldiers who suffer PTSD or a sudden phobia of guns or gunshot sounds are still able to fight competently with their bare hands.

I wish we could see a real fistfight between Mitch and Peter, I bet Mitch could easily punch the daylights out of Peter 2 seconds into the fight LOL.

reply

I'm sure Mitch can kick Peter's ass

There's no reason to. Peter isn't a violent guy and Lou isn't the type of woman worth fighting for either.

reply

Umm Peter might not be the violent type but he's willing to throw a punch. Didn't he deck that douche that was hitting on Lou and then tried to sue heartland?

susan

reply

You're right they really haven't told us much about him maybe they will

reply

Scott was and is an excruciating bore and the actor is terrible. That's why it never worked out with them.

reply

Yeah, when Lou and Scott talk about their past together, I never could buy that. There's just no chemistry between those two actors.

The ranch hand (can't remember his name) that went in partners with Jack and Tim is okay as a character but not as a love interest for Lou.

Peter was a good character and I miss him, but I guess he has other acting commitments hence why he is only on sparingly now. I don't like that Lou told Peter he was never around enough, made him feel guilty for working and providing for the family and gave him the heave ho. Then she goes out and does the same thing (she's never around for her daughters and is always in New York) but everyone is just supposed to be okay with it.
