Peta is best known for disrupting fashion shows and staging animal killings played out by humans in store windows or in streets. That's harsh, maybe silly, but it is definitely disturbing enough to make you think.
Think that that's what those animals are going through, just much, much worse.
But let's not forget:
how many companies have ceased animal testing and pledged to go fur-free etc.??? How many companies have improved since those dark ages?
MANY! So, that's what we should be grateful for Peta! It's not the isolated incident in a Paris Dior shop.
It is the whole picture. Which is bringing awareness and change!
I support Peta. And I support The Humane Society of the United States. I support the Doris Day Animal League, Greenpeace, WWF, my local animal rights group where I live, and the NRDC.

Mel, does it not bother you that PETA has ties to Rod Coronado, a man who's confessed to seven arsons? A gift of $25,000 was made to his father and Rod never mentioned his involvement with PETA in court.

And are you aware that Mary Beth Sweetland, PETA's senior VP, is a type A diabetic who uses insulin that contains animal products? She was quoted as believing she wasn't a hypocrite.

Do your own investigation. Write Ingrid and ask her the tough questions.

Arson done at 2am with all beings gone to destroy instruments of torture is not wrong. What is wrong is what you say about insulin being an animal product as well as its development. Why does Ingrid set her salary that averages out hourly to 9 dollars and fifty cents!!!! If you were to research ANY organization wich raise 25 million per year its president, CEO, founder,pioneer, never does this, as well as having about 15% of her employees outearning her? I am completely against Cruelty to animals. But I am also against exalting animals to the level of human beings. As much as I may love nature, especially my dogs, animals are...animals.

I'm a hippie (and proud of it, babe!), but I can think for myself.

And what about the general public who are brainwashed by the meat and dairy industries, especially the latter, which feeds people the BS that they need to drink milk past infancy (and another species' milk, no less!).

well peta has sent money to known eco-terrorists such as the animal liberation front. and what is wrong with eating meat. man has been doing it for thousands of years right? you dont see us on the streets condemning vegitarian or vegan diets do you. its a free country and we can choose what we what to eat. if it kills us well i guess its our fault then. and wtf is with petas ultimate goal of complete animal liberation. we cant even have pet??lol thats a joke and will nver happen. i agree that certain things should be put into place to prevent animals from dying cruel and unusual deaths or extended pain and suffering. but animal research fot example, look how many lives it has saved. i would put a human life over an animal life any day of the week and im sure almost everyone agrees. peta cares more about animals than people. many of my fellow troops are getting killed in iraq every year and all peta can care about is a stupid puppy that was probably already dead. FCK PETA

1. Eating meat out of a need to is different from just eating it because "it's good". Not only is it bad for the animals, but it's bad for the environment and your health.
2. I hate how ALF is classified as a terrorist group. Just because animal testing and factory farming are legal doesn't make them moral.
3. Yeah, maybe I do care more about animals than people, but can you blame me? Animals didn't cause the car accident that erased my short term memory. Animals don't run the KKK, Al Quaeda, the White Aryan Resistance, or the Westboro Baptist Church. Animals have no concept of superficiality, hatred or bigotry. Humans do. My parents are the ones always judging my clothes and tastes; my dogs couldn't care less.

How many PETA members have you actually seen throwing paint or blood on people? I'm not saying it's never happened, but it's not something that all PETA members and supporters are required to do.

That's an absurd argument. Not everyone that supports al qaida is required to strap on a bomb either. No, some just send money...

For the record I support PETA too...though in my case it's People Eating Tasty Animals. Like I always say, "I have no problem with vegetarians...a lot of what I eat are vegetarians." ;-)
