You know, I'm starting to think that the actors and crew members and their families of these time wasters must come on here and vote 10 for them.

you have to relalise that a huge percentage of the imdb user base only use two votes EVER. 10 if they liked it and 1 if they didnt. Take a look at peoples voting history (if they made it public) and you will be as shocked as me, i have seen people that have hundreds if not thousands of "10" votes.
This is the reason why almost every big budget blockbuster jumps straight into the top 50 (usually top 20) on its release and the only way i see to fix this is to give people only 10 or 20 "10" votes that they can use as "greatest films i have ever seen" but doubtful the voting system will ever change and thats ehy it is worthless.

Any voting system for movies is worthless to me anyway, as I never take any notice of what anyone else thinks about a movie when deciding whether to watch it. That decision is based purely on what it's about and who's in it.
