Not only was it bad, it was insulting to women...

My girlfriend begged me to download this so we could watch it, we did so yesterday and I was appalled at how bad it was.

This is one of those movies where I think it's incredible that any women would find this kind of idiotic entertainment to have any value. The acting, dialogue and plot were all some of the worst I've ever seen in any movie, even worse than many other "chick flicks" I've watched thanks to my girlfriend.

Why it's insulting to women: The women (girls) in this movie are portrayed as incredibly shallow, image-obsessed and too dumb to understand much of anything. The protagonist is obsessed with shopping and clothing and her only goal is to find a way to pay for her shopping obsession. She isn't cured at the end of the film, she just finds a rich man to support her habit.

These kinds of films make me wonder how women can be so shallow. Why is it that in every "chick flick", it's only about some image-obsessed woman trying to find a rich man. This was one of those movies where I predicted the ending within 3 minutes of the movie's beginning. Now there are some good "chick flicks", but this was clearly not one of them!

No, she was obsessed with fashion, and her ultimate goal, subsequently, was to work at a respected fashion magazine. There's nothing wrong with that. The problem was that she was also a compulsive shopper, which is a legitimate compulsion that people deal with every day.

She isn't cured at the end of the film, she just finds a rich man to support her habit.

I didn't interpret the ending that way. She was on the way to overcoming her addiction, she turned down her dream job because she realized that she didn't want to encourage the kind of destructive behavior that had damaged her own life so much, and she sold most of her stuff to pay off her debt. She did land a man, but I don't know how rich he was going to be, considering the fact that he was breaking off from his wealthy roots, and I can't really see the guy who is so into finances supporting her in her very expensive habit.

Was it a pretty typical chick flick? Yes. Was it super meaningful and chock-full of three-dimensional characters? Not really. Was it meant to be? Probably not. These movies are supposed to be fun, light entertainment. Just like all those Transformers-esque "boy" movies are supposed to entertain. Clearly this one wasn't to your taste. That's fine.

How is the truth insulting to women? Most women are shallow and image-obsessed and only interested in shopping, clothing, and finding a rich husband.

What kind of women do you hang around? That is certainly not true.

@Martin

It's a stereotype, troll. More women today (with any sense) prefer to make their own money and waste their lives waiting for some rich guy to come pick them up---that's not even realistic anyway.

The OP obviously missed all the key points of the movie - I wonder, if his girlfriend saw his post, would she realize how shallow and narrow-minded he himself actually is, because he obviously doesn't realize it.

What ISN'T 'insulting to women' these days?

Why doesn't anyone talk about insulting to men, insulting to humans, insulting to humanity as a whole? This movie is ALL of those.

Can you honestly tell me you can watch 1 minute 30 seconds of this movie without feeling like punching the narrator?

Why am I watching a clear 'girl power' flick when it's well-known I hate animals and children? (A cookie to anyone that knows what movie this sentiment is from) I mean, when it's clear I hate inequality and fema-fascism?

I actually wanted to test myself, I wanted to put myself through a 'difficult-to-endure-crap' that I KNEW was going to be a bad time for me, that would definitely 'trigger' me, make me angry and so on and so forth.

The stuff the narrator says about men in the narration in the beginning, holy cow. You could NEVER have a male narrator say the same stuff about women, ALTHOUGH gender is a social construct, and there are also billion genders simultaneously (logic never bothered fema-fascists).

I failed the test around 1 minute mark, and now that I am around eleve-minute mark, I just have to start seeking some kind of therapy. I don't know if I can go through with this movie, but that's what an 'endurance test' is all about.

I paid exactly zero (0.0) for this movie. Units don't really matter at this price, do they?

I still think it's too much, a rip-off, highway robbery, and too expensive.

The music, the stupidity, the unlikable .. well, I don't really need to list the obvious, do I? So this woman has never seen an ad picture before, although she lives in ... waah, never mind, if I start on this road, there's no way I will finish this test.

Maybe I better just forget every horrible thing, stupidity, nonsensical crap and fema-fascist misandry this movie keeps bombarding my poor mind with. What the heck did I start... oh well, I guess I'll be stronger after this. Aagh, I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing amphetamin.
