Interview on Criterion disc

Guy Maddin said something about how when you tell a lie or a story often enough it kind of gets scraped off at the edges and worn off until the truth is revealed. Does anyone remember that? Can someone post the quote?(My library used to have the movie but they got rid of it or somebody stole it / never returned it.)
