against everything I heard, I watched it

I do honestly believe that the best critic for myself is me, so against everything I heard I gave the movie a watch. Reviews are fun to read, and I do look for consistent rants or raves when I read/listen to them (i.e. I like to get them in bulk) but when it comes down to it, I’ll watch a flick (or skip it) regardless of what I might hear about it

The upside to hearing so much bad press is that my expectations where lowered, I was just hoping to see a fun alien invasion flick. What I got instead was boring and uneventful and I put that all on the story because I thought the acting was decent and the sets were great but like I said the story just completely lacked any good thrills.

I rate this flick wait till it plays on cable on a scale of “full price” to “don’t waste your time”

Side note: they must have saved a ton-o-money on not having aliens in the movie, just a bunch of glowing lights.

considering the aliens looked like 10yr old video game CGI when we did see them a little...its good they had so little screentime. :P

but yeah the only critic or opinion that ever matters is your own. if a movie interests you then you watch it, it doesn't matter what anyone else says or thinks. its nice to see others think for themselves. :)

I agree that I don't see the highest rated/regarded films as much as I see films with an interesting premise. To me, most of the critics picks are not my cup of tea.

I don't think it was that bad at all, and I did see it for free, so I was not disappointed. I didn't find it boring either. But I am one that would have preferred if they were only shown as light instead of seeing them without their shields up. If the monster is stupid looking, leave it up to our imagination instead.
