How on earth does one pronounce the title?

I assume it's a German word - I'm guessing it's Pass-shen-day-leh?

Is anyone here a native German speaker?

Cheers :)

Passchendaele is west Flanders, that is the North-West of Belgium, so it's not German, but originally a Flemish (closely related to Dutch) name.
Passchendaele is the French- and English-language spelling, Passendale the Flemish one.

It's Belgian. And it's pronounced 'passion-dale'. Try it.

In the actual Flemish it's probably like "Pah-shen-day-leh", but in English people just say Passion-Dale.
