Great feel for the time and horror but lame story

Good to see another attempt to show what the true horrors of WWI was like, but how much more cliche can this story have gotten? each character was awfully paper thin and save for the nurse was woefully acted and developed. The only saving point for recommending this is the visual acuity of the battle scenes toward the end. That much was done expertly, but if only it had a more believable plot to accompany it.
