Some things didn't make sense ..

I agree that the duke/dutchess/queen thing didn't make sense. The carriage with the rose brought a dutchess to the engagement party .. no mention of bringing a queen/king, or the three sons of the duke/dutchess .. also, for the wedding at the end, why didn't the King/Father of Rosella come? These movies seem to leave the daddies out ..

Other thing .. Queen Arianna? .. hmm .. her storyline made no sense. When she was a child, her family tried to poison the king and his family, so she and her family were put on a pig farm .. she grew up, and married the first King she could find, and old one with a heart condition .. who died 3 days after they wed. Hmmm. that story line wasn't all necessary, and didn't need to be so dark. ALSO, after he died? she heard that a son was born to the King, so she had a "daughter right away?" .. who would the father of that daughter; Princess Lucianna be???? Is she really a princess?

One last last thing, I promise; if there was a shipwreck, and a Princess lost, wouldn't that come to mind when Ro is brought back to the kingdom, wouldn't SOMEONE have remembered this ...

My daughter and I have watched this too many times .. I guess I am picking it apart

Ro's been on that island for years, talking to the animals. Yet she's able to understand the prince and his assistant when they're talking English to her?

And what about the TRAMPOLINE part, in the song??? how would any of them know what a trampoline is?

I think we've watched this movie too many times in our house. You should hear the way my dad picks apart the plot line of Princess and the Pauper....

I assumed the father is the one who took her on the voyage that shipwrecked so he is dead. As for her perfect English, she was probably 6 or 7 when she crashed because she is only 10 years older when she is getting married. By that age a child speaks their native language like a pro. She forgot her past not how to speak.

I was wondering too about the Queen and how she killed her husband. Sounds like she spent a night with some random guy to get pregnant. Makes you wonder...

Hahaha! I was thinking about that storyline about Queen Arianna, too. I'm glad I'm not the only one confused by that pathetic song she sang.

so if Queen Arianna 'supposedly' got pregnant by some random guy, then how is her daughter still a princess? And wouldn't Queen Arianna's reputation be ruined by her family's evil plotting and their land taken away?

Of course she's still a princess, since her mother is a queen. And if her mother got pregnant fast enough she could be assumed to be legitimate. Also, the king should be assumed to not have had a previous heir, since Ariana obviously inherited. Therefore, since she is queen, Luciana is a princess.

And remember, Ariana firmly states she doesn't bring up her past. So she's living under an assumed identity when she marries that king. So her reputation isn't ruined, since she isn't operating under it.
