am i the only one?

that actually enjoyed this film? my brother mentioned it and i just wasnt in the mood but after the 1st half hour i really got into it. i thought it was a great movie that should have got more then a rating of 3. but by the reviews of ppl it totally sucks?

just curious

It doesn't suck. If this was directed by anybody else than Durst, it would have had an average of around 6 - 6.5. All the hate is because of Durst, which proves the immaturity and, well, stupidity of most people on these boards.
Anybody that has nothing better to do with their life than come here and pump up ratings of 1, probably without even seeing the movie, is a loser, by definition.

While I haven't seen this film, I agree with you that most of the negative reaction is probably due to a dislike for Fred Durst. I, for one, thought he was a total jerk, after seeing him in the media for years when his band had its 15 minutes of fame. But I'm not the type of person who would pre-judge anyone's artistic endeavors, so...

I Thought I Was Going To Hate It. Because Ice Cube Is In It. I Watched It, And I Enjoyed It. Yeah It's Kinda Corny, But It Was Still A Nice Film. The Low Rating On Here Is A Bit Ridicules.

Goodbye Neighbor

I ended up seeing this because we were too late to catch Transporter 3. It turned out to be a mellow little flick and I was quite surprised. I hit this board today because I'm just realizing that Jill Marie Jones (who I adore) was the school teacher in the film. Wow! She looked different.

No question, this film deserves a higher rating. Yeah, at times it is kind of corny. But the premise that folks devalued this film because of a dislike for the director is ludicrous. I'm not a big Ice Cube fan, but too many noteworthy performances for me to rate this film lower than a 6. The fact that it is a true story makes it all the more worthwhile.
