how would this work? spoilers for reeker

All of the supernatural stuff in the first one was not real. Is this one supposed to be supernatural as well? how would that work?

Is She dead? No, She's just resting her eyes. Of course she's dead.

Uhh more people die and end up in the same limbo probably. No twist ending, same basic storyline.

You can´t be serious! I watched this movie with some friends and couldn´t really decide if I liked it or not. On the one hand I liked the kills, the effects were solid and there was actually suspense in some scenes. On the other hand, I hated most of the annoying characters and some scenes were painfully boring. So it really depended on the ending. Sometime during the movie, I think after about half of it, I said to my friends "Hmm, these people are chased by a grim reaper-like creature, strange things are happening and right before it all started, the earth trembled while they were at their car. If they´re going for a "Surprise, you´re dead!" twist ending because of a car accident with this one, I´m going to snap the DVD in half and try to cut my wrists with it!" I didn´t do it, by the way. I´m usually not good at guessing the (twist) ending of movies, but I saw this one coming from miles away. I hated the ending and it killed the movie for me.

Well, if you had seen the first movie, it would have been clear from the beginning on.

I still liked the ending, when <SPOILER> it was shown hwo everyone died and how the Reeker kind of re-enacted that in the dream. This gave the movie a little ambiguity: Was it real at all, or just the memory of the Sheriff about a serial killer he once caught? </SPOILER>

I saw the world premier of his first movie at sxsw a couple years ago with him there. I did enjoy the movie expecially with the twist because i thought it was a originaly idea. But it was stolen. Which made me like it less. *Spoiler* The whole it was actually a car crash thing had been done. Check out Dead End or my personal favorite The I Inside. It also happened in the movie Stay. People see one movie and say hey thats a great idea just like the whole fight club and hide and seek thing, (they're the same person) became a craze and every movie had it it got boring. As far as this new one is i'm going to give it a chance but i doubt it has any real potential because what did make the first one decent was the ending. There is no way he can do anything at all to complete wow us. Anyways just my thoughts on this movie.

Harry: I peed on the corpse. Can they do, like, an ID from that?
Perry: I'm sorry, you peed on...?
Harry: On the corpse. My question is...
Perry: No, my question. I get to go first. Why in pluperfect hell would you pee on corpse?

IT isn't a rip off its a different take on a twist that has been used for years. It was used in Carnival of Souls and a Twilight Zone episode called The hitch hiker. It doesn't matter whether its original its still a good movie.

Also loved Dead End, and will check out The I Inside. Thanks for the tip.

Horrorfan WAS talking about the first movie, he is in the wrong forum. You can tell he is talking about the first movie because in this movie there is no earth tremble while the characters are at their car.

I was not in the wrong forum, I was replying to Horrorfan45 and his commentary about how great the ending of the first one was.

I knew what was going to happen and I still enjoyed the first one (didnt even know about the second one until right now...)

I usually read up on a movie before I see it, wether I know the ending or not I take it for what its meant to be, I don't go "aw this is just cheap because i know whats going to happen."

That's being narrow minded.

yeah i see what your saying but the whole twist on the people actually starting to realise they were already dead put a whole new empathis on the film. and the bit where that guy crashed into the invisible barrier and lost half his head but could still walk around because he did it to himself and not the reeker was mint. as for the end i would have hated it if they left it with the reeker dead and no potential for another one to take his place. hopefully there will be a third film showing the little kid growing up practising killing people for his whole meaning of existance. this film was awsome. not the best and not quite as good as the first. but if they changed everything it wouldnt have had the same impact.

Isn't that kinda like what Sam Raimi did with Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2. Only he made Evil Dead 2 ridiculously funny?

What is the first one called?

I've found lots of films called "No man's Land" but none of which are similar to this.

It's called Reeker. You were searching with the wrong half of the title. ;p
