Dosen't Make Sense
After looking at the posts here, I realize that it is a sequel to another horror movie.
This may explain why it has so many non sequiturs: The meteror or alien space ship or whatever it was, the old man in the hospital gown appearing out of nowhere, the cook disappearing and reappearing, the shifting time sequences and finally, the mythology of the Reekers origins and purposes. Also, it is strange for a "Death" character to be sadistic. Most Death characters appointed by whatever powers may be are just efficient. It is a job, not fun and games.
I like complex movies where you have to see it more than one time for all the pieces to come together. Dark City is one of my favorites. I know that unlike Dark City, this is just a third rate horror movies, but even a third rate horror movies need coherence.
The actors who were good deserved a better vehicle.
Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together - mass hysteria.
