Thriller on corruption, or political allegory?

During a large portion of the movie, I thought I was just watching a thriller dealing with corruption and dirty politics in Israel.

But by the end, I came out of the theater thinking this was a profound allegory on escalating conflicts, and particularly on the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Did anyone feel the same? What did you make of this movie?

Well, what exactly made you think it was an allegory of the Israel-Palestine conflict? I did not have such impression. To me it was just a thriller.

The main thing that gave me this feeling was the last scene, in which you have main character shooting an RPG at an ex-Mossad. To me that already rings a lot like an allusion to the violence between israelis and palestinians: RPGs are anti-tanks weapons, and perhaps because of that they're typically used by insurgents, guerrillas etc. And after the explosion, the final shot focuses the main character and, in the background, an Israeli flag waving. If you add to that the very David-Goliath relationship between the two characters, and the escalation of their violence, I think it's very hard to look at the whole movie without linking it to the conflict -- in particular, I think it's pretty hard to make sense of the last shot if you see the movie as a pure thriller.
