They do that so if enough people ask to be notified then they'll make some cus they know they can sell them. It won’t happen though, the season was very unsuccessful.

shareIt WAS unsuccessful but it was only on for a month and a half before it was all over and at a really bad time from what i hear, 11pm on a weekday. I think it would be much more successful now on dvd! they'll only benefit as far as i can tell. its audience has clearly been growing, including internationally, as more people see other things the actors have been in and such or for whatever other reason decide to look it up.
i had really liked talulah riley in doctor who and pride & prejudice, and of course aaron johnson is gorgeous =) ...AND talented! it wasn't likely i'd have heard about nearly famous when it was on, and wouldn't have made a difference as i live a quarter of the way around the world, but i'd absolutely order the dvd right now if i could! i think we should at least try!
